There are three incision options for placement of a breast implant in breast augmentation surgery:
- Transaxillary from the under arm area, in which an endoscope is used to assist in creation of the pocket.
- Inframammary which is located in the breast crease.
- Periareolar which is where the incision is placed from the nipple area.
You may be a good candidate for only one of these approaches, or all three. When you come in to Edina Plastic Surgery for a FREE consultation your surgeon will carefully explain all of these options.
At EPS we have the only Vectra XT 3D camera in the state of Minnesota that shows breast augmentation patients incredibly accurate 3D photos of their own bodies with different size and style implants. When patients can see a simulation of their choice of implant on their bodies, it increases their satisfaction level with the procedure and improves their confidence.
