Depending on your surgeon’s operating schedule, your procedure may take place in our private on-site surgical center or at one of the accredited off-site ambulatory surgery centers, known as ASCs, where our surgeons hold privileges and operate regularly. For certain procedures or medical circumstances, a hospital setting is the safest choice.

What stays the same is the care you receive. Every location our surgeons work in is fully accredited and held to the same standards for safety, technology, anesthesia care, and patient experience. Your surgeon will schedule your procedure at the setting that fits your needs and their operating calendar, so there is nothing for you to compare or choose between. Wherever your surgery happens, an Edina Plastic Surgery team you already know is right there with you.

Our On-Site Surgical Center

One of the settings our surgeons operate in is our own surgical center, right inside Edina Plastic Surgery. We were one of the first practices in the Twin Cities to bring surgery in-house, and for many procedures, it means your consultation, your surgery, and your follow-up care can happen in the same place.

Our center includes two state-of-the-art operating rooms and a dedicated minor procedure room, supported by a specially trained surgical team who do this work day in and day out. It sits on the same floor as our clinic, and for patients who want extra privacy, it can be reached through a discreet back entrance and elevator. Your comfort, your privacy, and your specific requests are things we plan around, not afterthoughts.

Accredited by Quad A

Our surgical center is accredited by Quad A, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. Accreditation is voluntary, and the standards go well beyond what the government requires for a license. That is the point. It is how we hold ourselves to a higher bar than the law asks of us.

Quad A holds outpatient centers to hospital-level standards. To stay accredited, we have to meet strict requirements, including:

• Our surgeons are board certified and hold hospital privileges for every procedure they perform.
• Anesthesia professionals are on site for deeper levels of anesthesia.
• The surgical environment meets rigorous, regularly reviewed safety standards.
• Individual case data is tracked and reviewed over time.

Our Off-Site Surgery Centers

Your plastic surgeon may also perform your procedure at one of the accredited off-site ASCs where they hold privileges and operate regularly. Each one was chosen because it meets the same standard of care our patients expect from us, with advanced surgical capabilities, experienced anesthesia and clinical professionals, carefully coordinated care, and an environment built around safety, comfort, and privacy.

When your procedure is scheduled at one of these centers, your plastic surgeon brings members of their Edina Plastic Surgery team along. Your surgeon’s operating schedule determines which location is available, and our patients can feel confident moving forward at any of these locations knowing they will receive the same standard of care and safety. When a Hospital Setting Is the Right Call

For procedures or medical circumstances better suited to a hospital, our surgeons operate at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. It sits directly across the street from us, which keeps your care close and conveniently connected to our practice while adding the resources of a hospital environment. Edina Plastic Surgery is at 6525 France Avenue South, and M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital is at 6401 France Avenue South.
