Dr. Nathan Leigh, Dr. Robert Wilke and Dr. Michael Philbin are all members of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This group, which is the largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons in the world, published their annual results on plastic surgery procedures in the U.S. The report shows that 15.1 million cosmetic procedures were performed in 2013, a 3% increase from the previous year.
Some of the findings were not surprising. Breast implants, for instance, remain the top cosmetic surgical procedure. The top minimally invasive procedure was once again Botox®. Facelifts and eye surgeries were both up 6% from the year before.
Interestingly, two procedures that are gaining a great deal of popularity among American patients are buttock augmentation and neck lifts.
