Perioperative Nurse

With more than 30 years of nursing experience, Vera is a valued member of the Edina Plastic Surgery team and has been helping care for surgical patients since joining the practice in 2015. Her broad clinical background, commitment to education, and passion for patient care make her an exceptional resource for both patients and colleagues.

Vera began her nursing career in 1994 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Because of her family’s years with the Army, Vera had the opportunity to live in several states throughout her career, gaining valuable experience in a variety of healthcare settings and nursing specialties. Over the years, Vera has practiced in medical-surgical nursing, pediatric rehabilitation, labor and delivery, college health, community health, urgent care, and perioperative nursing, developing a diverse skill set and wealth of experience.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Vera earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education from St. Catherine University in 2013 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2026. Since 2014, she has served as a nursing professor at St. Catherine University, where she is passionate about preparing the next generation of nurses. She has also contributed to the nursing profession through peer reviewed publications focused on women’s health and presentations at professional conferences on mentoring.

As a Perioperative Nurse with Edina Plastic Surgery, Vera helps guide patients through every stage of their surgical experience. She plays an important role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality care before, during, and after surgery. Vera loves the work she does and feels privileged to be part of each patient’s journey.
