Since childhood, Mikayla has felt drawn to caring for others and helping those in need. This deep-rooted sense of compassion was further reinforced by her admiration for her stepmom, a registered nurse, who encouraged and inspired her to pursue a profession in the medical industry. Mikayla has now been working in and loving the healthcare field since 2018, and her passion for her work is evident in her continuous pursuit of certifications and qualifications to better serve her patients.
Before joining Edina Plastic Surgery’s team of Certified Surgical Technologists, Mikayla practiced as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for six years. This experience was invaluable, as it exposed her to many different medical conditions, healthcare scenarios, and patients from vastly diverse backgrounds. It also taught her the true power of empathy and how to deeply connect with the people she worked with.
Mikayla was drawn to the field of surgery because of the challenge it provided and the profound impact surgery can have on patient’s lives, whether therapeutic or cosmetic. She graduated as a Certified Surgical Technologist from the University of Rasmussen in 2024 and was ecstatic to take a position with Edina Plastic Surgery soon after. Our team is further strengthened by Mikayla’s extreme professionalism and organizational skills, as well as her warm, friendly, and outgoing nature, which our patients love.
What Mikayla appreciates most about working at Edina Plastic Surgery is the family-like atmosphere that extends to our patients. Every day, she sees how her co-workers and our surgeons come together and do everything we can to ensure that each patient has the absolute best experience and outcome while under our care. She feels deep synergy with this work culture and feels honored to be a part of the transformative journeys our patients take with us.
Mikayla’s life outside the doors of Edina Plastic Surgery is rich with family, friends, and dogs! She values quality time with her family, hanging out with friends, traveling to new places, and shopping. She prioritizes a healthy lifestyle and enjoys working out, but she can also be found relaxing with a good book. Mikayla is an avid dog lover and is the proud fur mama of two pups, “Boots,” the Chesapeake Bay retriever, and “Bluey,” the Cockalier.
