Since childhood, Lissa has felt a strong internal drive to help others and care for people in their time of need. She discovered this motivation not only stemmed from wanting to positively impact people’s lives but also from the immense sense of joy and purpose it brought into her own life. During high school, Lissa had the opportunity to help care for someone who was very close to her. This pivotal time in her life solidified the calling Lissa felt to pursue a nursing career.
After graduating from Marquette University Nursing School in 2003, Lissa’s career has been a journey of diverse experiences. She has worked in critical care, travel nursing, leadership, case management, and surgery recovery. For many years, her career was focused primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she honed her skills in handling delicate situations and providing specialized care. Now, with over a decade of experience in Surgical Services and Recovery, Lissa has had the opportunity to educate, lead, and manage other healthcare professionals in the specialty she loves. Edina Plastic Surgery is thrilled to have such a versatile and experienced provider join our post-operative recovery team, ensuring our patients receive the best care after their procedure.
For Lissa, nursing is not just a profession, it’s a part of her identity. Her compassionate and intensely warm personality allows her to make instant and meaningful connections with patients. Her authenticity and infectious zeal for life create a positive atmosphere for those around her. Lissa’s dedication to her patients is unwavering, and she is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure their comfort and confidence.

Lissa has a very active and full life outside of Edina Plastic Surgery. She and her husband love traveling to exciting new places, especially when beaches are involved. They are also an avid outdoors couple who enjoy boating, biking, and hiking. Lissa’s beloved Goldendoodle, Kona, often accompanies them, and she fully admits to spoiling her fur baby rotten! Whether at work or in her everyday life, Lissa works hard to practice deep gratitude and genuinely appreciate and find pleasure in every moment.
