Lindsey has known that she wanted to work in the healthcare field since she was a young adult. Her passion for caring for others led her to become a certified nursing assistant while still in high school. She intended to continue on to nursing school after graduation. A two-year waiting list prompted Lindsey to research other career paths that led to her discovery of the surgical technologist profession. Although she originally only planned to work as a surgical technologist while waiting for her acceptance into nursing school, Lindsey quickly fell in love with the operating room and the exciting dynamic of being a part of a surgical team. She has been a Certified Surgical Technologist since 2005 and hasn’t looked back since!
A Wisconsin native, Lindsey held her first position at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin. After moving to Minnesota, she worked at Fairview Southdale for two years until she met Edina Plastic Surgery surgeon, Dr. Robert Wilke. He encouraged Lindsey to apply for an open position with Edina Plastic Surgery, and she has been with us since the summer of 2012.
What Lindsey finds so rewarding about her career with Edina Plastic Surgery is her involvement in genuinely making a difference in our patients’ lives. She has seen, firsthand, the confidence that our surgical outcomes can restore to a patient and the dramatic impact this can have on their overall lives. Lindsey is proud to be able to honestly say that she would refer any of her family members or close friends to our team because she knows how well they will be taken care of. This synergy between excellence in surgical skill and patient care is very important to her and makes her work feel incredibly meaningful.
Lindsey’s passion for caring for others extends far beyond the human species it turns out! She is a huge animal lover. Abby is Lindsey’s beloved 14-year-old Pug, and Mitty is her spunky Pomeranian she rescued through Underdog Rescue three years ago. Lindsey also enjoys spending her free time working out and living life to its fullest with her husband and family.
